โš  Is this Betsy McIntyre? The tree has Elizabeth (Betsy) McIntyre, born about 1839 at Daviot, the wife of Archibald Macdonald with children born from about 1863 to 1879, and also the mother of Jessie (about 1872) and Lauchlan (about 1875) Macdonald, born at Knockbain with no father named. This entry is a different Elizabeth, a McPherson of Daviot aged 25, who married a ferryman of Knockbain in 1864. She is the same age and from the same parish, and a witness is Lachlan McPherson. The likeliest reading is that Jessie and Lauchlan belong to this Elizabeth McPherson and have been put on Betsy McIntyre by mistake. It could also be one woman whose maiden name is recorded two ways. Please do not treat the link as settled.
โ„น What would settle itThe 1871 and 1881 census households at Knockbain, the baptisms of Jessie and Lauchlan, and a birth entry for Annie McDonald (born about 1879 at Nairn) with her mother's maiden name.
