The Manson Family Tree
A researched family history for Colin Donald William Manson, built from an Ancestry.com GEDCOM export, ScotlandsPeople statutory records, and family document collections going back over 300 years across Scotland, Ireland and England.
About this tree
This site presents my direct ancestry and the wider family tree recorded in my genealogical research, primarily lines from the Manson and Widdows families on my father's side, and the McClure and Gavigan families (with Wood, Finlayson, Speirs, Ward and McCaffery branches) on my mother's side.
The underlying data comes from a GEDCOM export researched on Ancestry.com, cross-checked against statutory birth, marriage and death records held by ScotlandsPeople and a collection of certificate scans. It was reviewed for data-quality issues before publishing here — conflicting dates, inconsistent name spellings, and ancestors whose identity is still unconfirmed are called out explicitly rather than presented as settled fact. Every person's profile shows whether a source citation is attached to them.
